Strap Rotation Apps
For collectors managing 10+ straps across multiple watches, tracking apps streamline rotation. Here is the practical guide.
What Rotation Apps Do
- Track which strap is on which watch: log current pairing without manual notes
- Rotation reminders: alerts when a strap has been on too long (leather especially)
- Condition logging: note wear, cleaning dates, replacement needs
- Wishlist management: catalog straps you want to buy
Approach Options
| Tool | Best For |
|---|---|
| Simple spreadsheet (Google Sheets) | Under 20 straps — familiar, searchable, free |
| Dedicated watch apps with strap features | Already tracking watches digitally |
| Notes app with photos | Visual-first collectors who think in images |
| Physical log card per watch | Analog-preference collectors |
The Minimum Viable Log
If nothing else, record just three things per strap: material, lug width, and current watch pairing. That prevents duplicate purchases and speed-up strap swaps.
