Seiko 5 Rally Diver Returns With Rowing Blazers in 38 mm and 42 mm
Seiko, fashion label Rowing Blazers and dealer Eric Wind of Wind Vintage issued a fourth joint Seiko 5 Sports capsule in 2026. According to aBlogtoWatch’s July 2026 hands-on, the theme is a return to the 2021 Rally Diver: a dive-style Seiko 5 with a chequered racing-flag bezel, now in two sizes and two colours. Combined production was 5,000 watches. Direct allocation from Seiko and Rowing Blazers sold out within hours of launch. Retail was $495 for either size.
Two sizes, crossed straps
The 42 mm blue watch is reference SRPM19; the 38 mm green watch is SRPM21. Each box includes a steel three-link bracelet plus a contrasting NATO-style strap: green 22 mm fabric with the blue 42 mm, blue 20 mm fabric with the green 38 mm. Both use Caliber 4R36 (time, day-date, 3 Hz, roughly two-day reserve), Hardlex crystal, 100 m water resistance and a 4 o’clock crown. Exhibition backs carry a dripping-tap graphic tied to Rowing Blazers’ Bathroom Club motif.
| Reference | Size | Dial | Thickness / L2L | Run |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| SRPM19 | 42 mm | Blue | 13.4 mm / 46 mm | 2,500 |
| SRPM21 | 38 mm | Green | 12.1 mm / 44.2 mm | 2,500 |
Hodinkee’s coverage of the same drop described it as the fourth Seiko–Rowing Blazers collab and noted the Rally Diver as the summer’s high-visibility Seiko collaboration relative to later Presage projects. The 2021 original was a 42 mm black-and-white Rally Diver only. The 2026 pair adds a 38 mm case that Seiko 5 Sports has used more widely in recent years, and swaps the monochrome palette for blue/green.
What sold out, and what that means for parts culture
- Price: $495, same for 38 mm and 42 mm.
- Total: 5,000 pieces (2,500 per reference).
- Sell-through: factory and brand channels cleared in hours; secondary listings appeared after launch.
- Crystal: Hardlex, not sapphire, in line with volume Seiko 5 Sports.
- Movement: 4R36, the same family as the 4R/NH architecture used in aftermarket builds.
The 42 mm Rally Diver sits on the same case family as the 2019 Seiko 5 Sports SRPD platform that still dominates aftermarket parts. Builders comparing factory collabs with kit watches can start from the SRPD platform overview. Hardlex is the stock crystal; sapphire swaps remain the most common first upgrade, documented in the Hardlex-to-sapphire upgrade wave. Official collab bezels and dials are not sold as spare parts; aftermarket chequered inserts exist separately from this limited run.
FAQ
Is this a new Seiko 5 case? No. It uses existing 38 mm and 42 mm Seiko 5 Sports dive cases with 4R36, Hardlex and 100 m rating. The collab content is colour, bezel graphic, caseback art and the two-strap kit.
Why did both sizes cost $495? Seiko set a single retail for the capsule. aBlogtoWatch reported the same price despite the diameter difference.
Can you still buy one at retail? Direct Seiko and Rowing Blazers stock sold out on launch in July 2026. Remaining supply is secondary-market only.
