Parmigiani Moves Milano Blue Skeleton Into a 30-Piece Rose Gold Case
Parmigiani Fleurier has placed its Milano Blue skeleton architecture into an 18K rose gold Tonda PF case and bracelet, issuing a 30-piece edition just ahead of Geneva Watch Days. According to Hodinkee, the combination had previously appeared only in platinum; the new pairing keeps the 40 mm, 8.5 mm Tonda PF silhouette and the in-house automatic Calibre PF777.
What the maison announced
The Tonda PF Skeleton first arrived in 2022 as part of the second wave of the collection under CEO Guido Terreni. Early steel and rose gold examples used graphite-toned openworked bridges. In 2024 the maison applied Milano Blue to a platinum case. The 2026 announcement reuses that colour on rose gold, with atomic layer deposition (ALD) coating the sculpted bridges so their contours remain visible.
According to Revolution Watch, the blue shifts from bright to darker tones with ambient light. Rhodium-plated gear train, barrels and escapement sit beneath the bridges, while applied rose gold indexes and skeletonised delta hands provide contrast. The openworked chapter ring is retained so hours and minutes remain readable.

The PF777 was designed as an openworked calibre rather than a later skeleton of an existing closed movement. Two barrels in series feed the 4 Hz train; mainsprings are visible from the dial and the sapphire caseback. A skeletonised 18K rose gold rotor occupies the reverse. For context on why 4 Hz remains a common high-end beat rate, see our comparison of 3 Hz and 4 Hz automatic standards.
- Hand-knurled bezel and sculpted Tonda PF lugs are unchanged.
- Bridges mix sandblasted, vertically satin-brushed and bevelled, mirror-polished surfaces.
- The edition is timed for Geneva Watch Days, which opens on 2 September 2026.
Where this sits in the 2026 calendar
Parmigiani Fleurier already presented the Tonda PF Chronographe Mystérieux and 30th-anniversary Toric pieces at Watches and Wonders in April. The Milano Blue rose gold skeleton is a smaller, limited follow-up rather than a new complication. Hodinkee listed the price in line with earlier rose gold Tonda PF Skeleton releases. Revolution Watch quoted CHF 97,000 for the same watch.
FAQ
Is the Milano Blue coating new?
No. According to Revolution Watch, Milano Blue first appeared on the platinum Tonda PF Skeleton in 2024. The 2026 news is the move onto rose gold, limited to 30 watches.
Does the PF777 show a date?
No. The calibre is hours and minutes only. The open chapter ring is kept so time remains legible through the skeleton.
How does the price compare with the platinum version?
Hodinkee reported USD 117,100, stating it matches prior rose gold Tonda PF Skeleton pricing. A franc figure of CHF 97,000 was published by Revolution Watch. Neither outlet restated the platinum list price in the 2026 notices.
