Panerai Luminor Luna Rossa Chrono & GMT 2026: America's Cup Edition
Panerai and Luna Rossa Partnership Sails into 2026
As the countdown to the 38th America's Cup in Naples continues, Panerai has unveiled two new Luminor Luna Rossa watches that deepen the brand's partnership with the Italian sailing team. Since teaming up with Luna Rossa in 2019, Panerai has transformed this collaboration into a proving ground for its modern sports watches, delivering pieces that combine the unmistakable Luminor design with technical touches tailored for performance and daily wear.
Luminor Luna Rossa Chrono PAM01768: Built for Timing
The more purpose-built of the two new releases is the Luminor Luna Rossa Chrono PAM01768. Housed in a 44mm steel case, it pairs a silver sun-brushed dial with red details inspired by the Luna Rossa team colours. The watch features a tachymeter scale for measuring average speed over a set distance, working together with the central red-and-white chronograph seconds hand to calculate speeds in kilometres or miles per hour.
Powered by the calibre P.9210 (an automatic ETA base with Dubois-Depraz module), the PAM01768 beats at 28,800 vibrations per hour and offers a 42-hour power reserve. A first for the Luna Rossa collection, the watch introduces an elastic Velcro strap with a red central stripe and a quick-adjust design perfectly suited to active sports use. A second black rubber strap is also included.
Luminor Luna Rossa GMT PAM01791: Daily Versatility
The Luminor Luna Rossa GMT PAM01791 takes a different approach. At 40mm, it is among the more compact watches in the Luna Rossa family and becomes the first Luna Rossa watch to be fitted with a metal bracelet. The silver sun-brushed dial features red accents on the small seconds hand and arrow-shaped GMT hand, whose shape is inspired by the sail of the Luna Rossa yacht.
The PAM01791 is powered by the automatic P.900/GMT calibre (ValFleurier-based) with a three-day power reserve and a 12-hour second-time-zone display. Like its chronograph sibling, it is water-resistant to 100 metres and features Panerai's PAM Click Release System for easy strap swapping.
