A heat gun gives you more control than an oven. You can target specific areas and adjust temperature in real-time. This is the preferred method for many experienced builders.
Temperature Settings

- 250-300F: Moderate yellowing. Slight darkening of dial.
- 300-350F: Heavy yellowing. Noticeable color change.
- 350-400F: Aggressive aging. Risk of paint damage.
Techniques
Lume Yellowing
Hold heat gun 6-8 inches away on low setting. Move constantly over lume areas. Check every 30 seconds. Stop when desired yellow is reached.
Dial Darkening
Hold heat gun 8-10 inches away. Move in slow circles. The dial will darken gradually. This takes 5-10 minutes.
